congenital hemoangioma

fully formed at birth , not increase in size after birth (in contract to infantile hemangioma which increase in size during infantile period)

2 main types :

rapidly involuting congenital hemangiomas (RICH) which regress spontaneously

non-involuting congenital hemangiomas (NICH) no regress

best option is reassurance and waiting , unless complication like erosion , ulcer or hemorrhage (قرحه او نزف)

this case of strawberry hemangioma , most of them regress spontaneously by age 5-8 years after an initial period of rapid growth , systemic therapy with propranolol in complicated cases :

1-rapidly growing (no sign of spontaneous remision)

2-periorbital lesions

3-hemangioma in airway ,GIT ,liver

4-hemangioma with ulceration , scarring

if there is no response to medical therapy , then move to cryotherapy
